History
Till 1965, India's borders with Pakistan were guarded by the
State Armed Police Battalion. Pakistan attacked Sardar Post, Chahar Bet
and Beria Bet on 9 April 1965 in Kutch. The attack revealed that the State
Armed Police Battalion was inadequate in countering the armed offensive, which
led the Government of India to feel the need for a Special Border Security
Force under the Center, which would be an armed and trained force and
international along the Pakistan border. Will monitor the border. As a
result of the recommendations of the Committee of Secretaries, the Border
Security Force came into existence on 1 December 1965 and Shri KF Rustomjee was
its first head and founder. Presently Shri Vivek Kumar Johri is the
Director General of Border Security Force.
Specialty :
In its 54 years of existence, the Border Security
Force has emerged as a special force of the country which played an outstanding
role in 1971 and Kargil war. Our goal is "Any responsibility,
anytime, anywhere". The officers and soldiers of this force have shed
their blood and sweat to live up to its motto "lifetime duty".
Limit
Fencing / Flood Light / Road:
The concept of a comprehensive border management
project such as border fencing, border floodlight, border road and composite
BOP has been started under the Composite Scheme for better management of the
international border of Western and East and these are in progress. Simultaneously,
the objective barrier concept of border security is being upgraded from the
technology driven Composite Integrated Border Management Scheme (CIBMS).

Security of Indian borders and resolving matters connected therewith.
BSF Duty of
The functions of Seasubal are divided as follows:
1. In Peace:
o To promote a sense of security among the people living in the border areas.
o Prevention of trans-border crimes and prohibiting unauthorized entry and withdrawal into Indian territory.
o Prevention of smuggling and other illegal activities. For the last few rains, the Border Security Force has also been deployed for anti-insurgency and internal security duties.
2. In the event of war:
o Stay in low danger areas until the main attack develops in a particular area and it is felt that the Border Security Force is competent to deal with the local situation.
o Units of the Border Security Force can be deployed in special area even in case of war to free the army for offensive operations.
o Even if a large attack is expected and the Border Security Force is not able to deal with such an attack, the army can be expected to strengthen the Border Security Force by providing artillery or other support or Border Security Force Relieve him from his role.

- We conquered Mount Everest in 2018 and even before.
- The Border Security Force helps in this campaign by sending its personnel to UN Mission every year.
- During the Kargil War in May – July 1999, the Border Security Force was deployed in the security of the country, coordinating with the army on the peaks of the mountains.
- Border Security Force personnel have been posted in internal security duty in Manipur for the last two years and are successfully taking action against the emergency in these areas.
- During the 26 January 2001 earthquake in Gujarat, border security first helped the aggrieved people on access.
- In the recent communal agitation in Gujarat, the Border Security Force went among the people and restored friendship and brotherhood among them.
- Despite millions of attempts by Pakistan to thwart our plan, the Border Security Force successfully completed the border fencing in Jammu and Kashmir.
- The Border Security Force works to prevent infiltration along the border, during Pakistan's current rude behavior while guarding the borders with the Army.
